Every year thousands of students from Bangladesh are going to UK to achieve a British degree in undergraduate and post graduate courses. Getting Admitted To A College / University

To get to go to UK with the student visa first you have to get enrolled into a university or college in UK. There are regional offices and representatives of different teaching institutes of UK in Bangladesh through which you can get the admission to your preferred undergraduate or postgraduate course. Students from Bangladesh usually prefer to enroll themselves in a college rather than a university of UK. The main reason why they chooses a college is due to the low tuition fees because the tuition fee of a particular course in a university is normally thrice the amount than that in a college. The other reason is that the admission requirements of a university are more than the requirements of a college. Due to these reasons Bangladeshi students mostly study in a college, when they go to UK. On completion of their graduation from a college they are getting the same certificates as they would have gotten by studying in a university. This is because all standard colleges of UK are affiliated with several universities and awarding bodies for every single course.
So if you choose to get admitted to a college of UK make sure the college is either enlisted with BAC (British Accreditation Council) or ASIC (Accreditation Services for International Colleges). This will confirm you about the standard of that college.

Based on which level you enter, i.e. under-graduation or post-graduation, your admission requirements might vary. Your previous academic background will give you support to the admission. Under the new rule of TIER4 you even do not require an IELTS score to get the VISA if your college and university is willing to give you the admission based on your previous academic results. While getting admitted to a college of UK from Bangladesh you have to pay the first year tuition fees at advance through bank drafts in order to get the offer letter from the institute. Do not worry, in case you do not get the visa afterwards then the college will refund your money through the regional representative.

Usually a college or university of UK does not accept any credit transferred from Bangladesh. But if you are already studying under NCC educations like Computer Information System or doing a course like ACCA or LLB under the same awarding body then you can get a waver and transfer credits to UK for the same course.


Living Expenses And Jobs

Apart from the tuition fees all other living expenses for a student are assumed to be near about 7200 GBP per year according to the British Council of Bangladesh. Along with the UK Student Visa an international student gets a work permit to work 20 hours in a week and full time during the vacations. Since a student from Bangladesh does not hold a British degree on arrival to UK usually they do odd jobs in these 20 hours in a week to bear their expenses. The fact is in UK that they can easily bear all their tuition fees and living expenses with this earning and can still make some savings.

Once you have completed your graduation and got the degree you can apply for IGS (International Graduate Scheme) to the home office. By doing that can easily extend your visa to 1-2 years more with full work permit. And holding a British degree then you do not need to do a odd job and can get a highly paid office job without much difficulty.


UK Student VISA

Getting a student visa to UK is not difficult at all if you follow up with the requirements. Infact under the new rule of TIER4 getting VISA to UK is very easy. Along with your passport, photographs, medical certificate, academic certificates, job letter, offer letter, you only need to have an amount of money equivalent to your first year living expense (which 8-10 lac taka) in your bank account for atleast 28 days before you get the bank statement of that account and submit it to the high commission along with VISA application. You need to fill up the Visa form precisely and tactfully to ensure the concreteness of your application. You can show evidence to your English qualifications but it is not mandatory once the college gave you the admission without IELTS/TOEFL. Under TIER4 you do not even need a financial sponsor now a days, you own account with an amount of 8-10 lac taka will do. Everything should be arranged and written in order to make your ground strongly in order to achieve the visa. On completion of your file processing for the visa it has to be submitted to the British High Commission through VFS. They will take 2-3 working days to give you the result.
